So i have a 65 gallon tank and i think its time to get my first protein skimmer i was wondering what are some good brand?? Also is there such thing as to much skimming? as i do plan on upgrading to a 220g tank in 2-3 years should i buy a smaller skimmer for this tank and then a largerone for the new tank? Is it normal for corals to all of a sudden die for no reason seemingly? I just lost a frogspawn and a couple of mushroom corals and cant figure out why. Salinity normal, 0 ammonia,nitrate .5 phosphate, 440 ca ,ph 7.8.8.0 All the other fish and corals look great. Seems to be a lot of little red flakes everywhere...could they be flatworms and could they be the cause? Thanks Kitch40
I'm thinking a/b setting up a PhosBan 150 reactor below my tank, mounting it on the wall of my stand. I have a taller reef tank 46 gallon, I don't have a fuge just a very large HOB skimmer, which takes up alot of room on the bk of my tank. Looking @ what other people use as a pump for these reactors it seems like the 400 maxi-jet is very popular. I just don't think it's strong enough being it will be almost 2.5-3 ft from lid of tank to where the reactor will be put and another 2.5-3 ft bk up for ...
