Finally purchased my lighting, got a good deal on it at Dallas North, so I had to grab it, it's a 48", AquaticLife T5 HO 6 Lamp with 4 Lunar lights light. I guess I'm going to have to start figuring out how I'm going to mount it, I need to get it about 4 more" off the water (a total of about 7" above the tank), so I have room to get into the tank to clean or move things around, can't decide if I want to hang it or build a canopy for it.
I asked a question about cooking rock a while back and looking back on it I think I asked the wrong question. I have about 40 lbs of rock that is now sitting in a container with saltwater in it, I want to dump the water and refill the container with fresh water and kill all life on the rock and start frresh, use it as base rock I guess. What would the best way to do this, using bleach in the water I soak the rock in? Any help would greatly appreciated, thanks.
Quick question, I've heard people talk about cooking rock to get all life off of it, what is the best and safest way to do this? I have about 40 pounds of rock I want to take care of. Thanks.
I'm going to be ordering a T5 retrofit kit to put into the canopy I'm building for my 60"X18.5"X19" OceanView RR tank, should I get a 6 bulb 48" kit or do you think I will be able to fit a 60" kit in there? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Well I finally got to pick up my new tank this last weekend, bought it from Dallas North Aquariums. I've been meaning to post a couple pictures here but we had an unexpected emergency in the family over the weekend also, so it had to wait, my girlfriend's mom passed away in the Philippines so I had to get her and our son to California, then on to the Philippines as soon as I could.
Now for the tank:
It's a 60"X18.5"X19" tank, I guess about 90 gal, they
