Having now moved the Red Sea Max is back up and cycling after shutting it down due to hair algae issues. Sometimes as painful or costly as it is you have to start over. Now looking at a few upgrades (Stevie T media rack and Tunze 9002 skimmer then possibly an LED upgrade). Have an external filter and Vecton UV unit so should have no major issues with parasites etc.

Well couldn't overcome the hair algae issues from a second hand tank I bought so all live stock sold and tank stripped down. When removing all items the state of them was awful and all now cleaned up and like new.
Decided while tank stripped going to buy the Tunze 9002 upgrade and Media rack as they seem to improve the water clarity and flow etc.
Taken a while to do but worth it as know when complete will have a lovely tank again.
