hey guys just got home from the hospital from my rotator cuff surgery. im only 16 so its kind of unusual for me...but ya know stuff happens and people get hurt.
well anyways since they had me all drugged up i couldnt drive so my parents drove me, and on the way back they gave me a huge surprise...they pulled into the best lfs and said get whatever you want for the 180 gallon, although they only paid for 10 dollors i decided to buy myself a present and got 1 four inch red sea sailfin
went by the local fish store today and they had a green bta for sale and i just had to pick it up, i have had acclimation issues with one of my long tentacle anemones so i took extra care into this one, after about 3 and half hours of acclimating, i placed him in the tank and seems to love it, within 10-15 minutes he seemed to be fully attached at his foot, and his oral disc fully extended, witch is about 6 and ahalf inches in diamater, i amveryy happy with the new addition pictures will follow
around 9 pm the power went out on my block because a transformer blew up and my 180 gallon reef was barley prepared. its now 230 in the morning and i just got the power back on. inspected everything and seems to be just fine, but when the power blew out around nine, the only thing i had to cover my tank was a "silent air". i bleive this littlee batterie opperated machine just saved my reef tank, all it takes is to batteries and it pumps oxygen into the tank. whew that was scary. i was
55 gallon mixed reef, upgrading to a 180 gallon i picked up last friday at LFS. but need a little bit more rock to do what i wish. already have 60-70 pounds of live marshal island, tonga, and fiji live rock, but would like maybe 185lbs. should i buy dry rock and wait for benificial bacteria to grow or should i dump some money into good quality live rock?
i have a 55 gallon reef tank, and im having trouble with the sand i finally got everything stable about 6 months ago and everything looks good exept the sand, detritus appears on my 3-4 inch deep sand bed everyday! i try and stir the sand but its back the next day, i think its because i dont have sand sifters? witch are the best sand sifters? because no detritus grows on my rockwork advice anyone?
