Please forgive the crappy pictures, but I tried to make the problem spots stand out a little easier.
So I have seen some spots on this coral that are white, and I have just been keeping an eye on it. The other day while inspecting closely with some magnification, I noticed that around some of the spots, there are these lesion looking things.
I can't figure out what could be doing this, unless it is a hermit crab. I had one that liked to climb all over this coral, and then sit in one
I have been having some pretty heated debates with myself, over the wattage of lighting that I would like to use in Lumen Bright Mini Wide pendants. I want to hang my pendants at least 24" above the surface, and maybe even an inch or two higher.
I know this sounds extreme, but my tank will be 36" deep, so the spread will be important. Now, the arguements have been over 250w vs 400w bulbs and ballast. I feel like I will need 400 watters to achieve the results that I have
I have been watching this coral for a few days now. I have a snail that I got in a few weeks ago, and it has all these spikes all around it's shell. It looks like a star. So, this one snail has been hanging out on the coral. I would move the snail, and then later it would be back. It has been going on now for a few days.
I don't know if the snail has anything to do with this, I just thought I would mention that. So night before last, I was checking out the coral pretty hard, and I
LOL! I hate that it happened, because it is such a mess, but I am pretty sure that is what happened to my tank last night. I went home yesterday at lunch, and introduced my Berghia nudis to the tank. Since they were new to the surroundings, I turned all the lights off. So, anyway, I get home at like 8 last night, and turn on the lights, and it was a total white out. I freaked, and started to frantically open cabinet doors, turn off pumps, etc. SO, all of the sudden, I see that
So, I will be moving on to a larger tank really soon. I am currently in a 75 gallon that is rather strange as far as dimensions go. Its 4' long tank which is great, but this one is a 75 tall which leaves almost nothing for the width. This tank's width is 12" on the outside, which means that I have 11.5" inside there from front glass to back. This has severely limited my choices so far. I have had to keep the fish down to around 4 at all times, because of the rock and corals, there
