Let's start over... maybe.

Hello Addicts Gozer here to introduce my self and what I'm doing here. I've been in the reef hobby for about 4 years... I think. I have a 75 gallon tank with about 100 in the system. At one point it was quite a nice tank for a novice. I say at one point because sadly I lost my addiction fervor a year or so ago. The tank is still goin' but it hasn't seen the TLC it deserves and is now basically a red mushroom garden with a couple of this and that to go with. I have a pest starfish problem and plenty of coraline to scrape. Let's just leave it at, it needs some TLC. That's why I'm here, moral support. I need to find my addiction again. My tank needs me to find it. I'm looking forward to getting things back in order. In the coming months I plan on some serious renovation and, eventually, a restart of everything but the fish and a coral or two. The mushrooms are just out of control. They made for a great start in the hobby but I'm ready to be rid of them. Perhaps if I had been on top of it but that's history. For now I'm going to focus on clean up and such. I have pretty big plans and will be spending the next year gearing up for them. Next August the tank is going to be moved to a new house and I want to take that opportunity to restart the tank. So in the next few months I'll be looking for advice on making such drastic changes. By the time the move comes around I hope to make it a smooth transition. I'll be using all new man made rock that I plan on having already wet and live. I'll have a storage tank setup for that. A shiny new skimmer if the funding is there. I'm also VERY interested in the ol' LEDs, again based on funding lol. I'm an experimenter and have a very interesting idea I'd like to get some advice on. Perhaps another day lol.

Here's the current setup details for anyone interested.
75g Display
20g sump
20g refugium
AquaC Remora Skimmer
CPR overflow
Orbit 4x65W
Coralife 2x65W

2 Tomato Clowns
1 Chromis (poor guy)
1 Coral banded shrimp
1 Red brittlestar
some turbos, a bunch of nassarius and a handful of cerith snails.
and 6 or so blue legged hermits.

Anyway, that's my deal, hope to see everyone around and reignite the addiction fire. Thanks for reading!

Welcome---I also have a 75 tanks with about 90 gallons in the set up. All so looking at the LED light idea working on small "test" light for refugium just to get a handle on how it works. Sound like you have a good plan...should post some pictures...look forword to future post on your progress

Well there's a couple pics. As you can see the sand needs some work as do the walls. General maintenance is what this tank needs most. I've kept up on water and the parameters are all pretty darn good. It's everything else I need to get back up on.
