My reef experience

Well, let me start by saying I have learned far more from fellow reefers than I have from books. I have also learned the hard way by making mistakes. DIY is a great learning experience as well.
I have been reefing for about 10 years now and am on my second tank. First was a standard 75 that started as a peninsula tank and graduated into a 2 side viewable after a house move. peninsula is great, but real challenging for both aquascaping and flow (visually anyway).
I now have an 80 gallon cube that I love. Figuring flow out was tricky but the vortech MP40 worked out great. The tank is about 34 x 32 x 18 (I think) and glass. My philosophy is change slowly and observe. My latest change has been to exit SPS (mostly) and move toward LPS & softies. I had been an SPS person for years and it was fun, but the pests, lack of challenge, prices, lack of trades, and the new things available in the LPS world made this a great decision for me. I hope I continue to enjoy these corals as they grow and spread.
