Pre-filters. . . something got me thinking.

Ok so I was out doing some stuff yesterday at Home Depot and Wal-mart and since my sediment filter is really looking rusty already thought about picking up a cheap one and swap it out. Anyway got to looking and the one I saw available at Home Depot was like 30 microns which seems way high and the ones at Wal-mart are Dupont brand but have absolutely no information on them. So I put in an e-mail to Dupont to try and get the information and while I am at it figured why not put together some information about what is available on the net. After a few hours and some help from my wife I have about 70 different sediment, carbon, and DI filters compiled. I found some that are designed for standard purpose and even some that are made to help remove chemicals like MTBE or other VOC's another is made to remove phosphates. I know that our RO membranes along with DI resin will probably remove these compounds but I figure that having the info available may be helpful for some people who are dealing with really bad water even outside of the reefkeeping community.
If anyone has information that can be added let me know. I will be adding more as often as possible to get a good cross section of information and hopefully get a good chunk of the available brick and mortar stores filter info in as well in case you do need to make a quick pickup.
This is that I have so far, http://nacl-h2o.ventshop.net/node/20
