new sump help

Rate this Entry
hi all. i have a 29g sump and it runs fine. but my new pump will handle more flow so i want to upgrade.lol i have a 55g with a cracked center brace that i can use. i have the wife's permission to set it up downstairs and plumb it to my tank. the 29 has a ref, skimmer and return section. i was thinking to still use it, just as a skimmer and ref, then drain the water into the 55, half to the return section and half to another ref. the pump is the snapper hybrid, so will do around 1800g at 10'. i can run most of the water through the skimmer, then directly to the return. she 2 ref's will get a fairly low flow.
or should i just skip the 29 and use the 55.
i do need to put in some dividers in the 55, it bows really bad.lol

    I think you need a new 55g

Also pump sounds a little big for your setup
