So my wife is between semesters right now in college and only interns one day a week. She has now taken it upon herself to redo our office. This is a small room that has some terrible carpet and just plain pain walls. She has already ripped the carpet up and discovered what we though, nice wood floor that matches the hallway, although a little beaten up and scratched(I will sand it another time). She has already painted one coat on the room after filling all the minor holes in the wall and dents. Now she has one coat left and a few other minor things like the trim and we can pick out a new desk and other items. Well this morning for some reason it hit me. I am going to build the most awesome thing ever, a bookshelf with a fish tank in the lower area. I have an idea in my head of how to build it. The bottom would simply be a cabinet that comes out only a tiny bit more then the shelves from the wall, this would contain my sump. then about 3 feet or so up would be the tank, my 33 gallon long. The 33 gallon is 4 feet wide but I would make the shelf a little wider and try to make the overflow on the end and then run the plumbing down and up the sides instead of behind it. I would then have a canopy that would just be big enough to house the lighting and then a shelf above that. Since this would be my freshwater setup to test my sump building and glass drilling skills the bulbs would not be very hot and I might not need any fans for them. The shelf would continue all the way up to the ceiling, we have a lot of books. I am really excited by the thought of this project and I emailed her from work and got a "we will talk about it" response which should mean it will start this Friday or Saturday. Finally an excuse to go buy a mitre saw!!!!!!
