Sump Design

This is the sump design I have in mind

Tank Stand is 80"x 34"x38"
Expect to loose 8-10 inches of height due to clearance below the stand and bracing... so assuming I have 36-37 inches of height for skimmers and equipment. Planning to use my Hurricone Cat 1 but verylikely will add any of the Sper Reef OCtopus 5000 Series and keep both if they fit.
those skimmers work best in 7-8 inches in the water and are around 24 inches high.
also sump will handle around 1000 drain from tank and 1500-2000 GPH coming from additional sump in Fishroom 7-8 feet higher. would appreciate any advise on bubble tower or baffles (planning 2.25 inch separation between baffles and the middle one 2 inches higher than the 2 side ones) would also appreciate any advise on wethear I should get the drain from fishrooms sump (coming from a gravity drained fuge) to which part of the stand sump? Can't guide it to tank as it'll cause many bubbles and I'm afraid draining it in the bubble tower will lead to the pods being sucked by the skimmers. Would you just drain it in the fuge in a bubble tower or will that also cause too much flow in the fuge?
Thanks for any suggestions here.

    what is the cryptic fuge?

A fuge with very slow water movement which supposably allows for easier pods breeding.

    Hi Maroun,

With a sump that is 60" x 26" I don't think 3000gph flowing through it will be a problem. Your layout is a little limiting, but if you send 25% of the flow (750gph) to the refugium zones, that leaves you with 2250gph hitting the skimmer section. The bubble tower you've drawn is pretty big. 10" x 4" seems like a waste of space. A 1.5" bulkhead can drain 1500gph and your tower is 12x that size. 4" x 4" would be enough, but if you wanted it to be 4" x 6", that's still big enough for anything you throw at it.

The bubble trap section should have the a baffles 2" apart. The middle baffle being up 2" is perfect.

That water draining from the fishroom's higher sump can go to the refugium zone if you like, but I think it will cause the cryptic zone to be less cryptic. I would send part of it to the refugium and the rest to the skimmer zone. Your plumbing is going to be interesting.

    Thanks Mark.
Can you please elaborate on the layout being a little limiting? Any thing you would change?
Reason for making the bubble trap so big was to use it for adding carbon, filter floss in case of bacterial blooms... in it as it should get very good flow. Now that you mention it being big I guess I'll make it smaller as I ahve learned the lesson to tryt o keep the skimmers section as big as possible. Guess I'll drop it to 4X4-4x6.
I could have the water from the fishroom hit the water behind the partition of the 2 fuges to limit the effect on the cryptic zone....or maybe just forget abot the cryptic zon in this sump and have it in the bigger fuge in the fishroom?
I will have a huge fuge up in the filtration room so do you think I should make the fuge under the stand a little smaller to use the space for something else?
Plumbing!!! that does bring back some difficult memories from my 150 G build as I had to continuously redo part of the plumbing....
