Okay, Sunday my wife and I drove to go and get my tank in Katy Texas. We went to pick up a 75 gallon Reef Ready tank that I trade for a very nice laptop. I love the tank and although it does need a little TLC, it's big and RR. ;-) Here is a pic of it:
In the picture the stand and the canopy looks like two different colors, its not. Both pieces are flecked gray with tiny black dots, looks real nice. The doors, which are not shown are not finished yet. I will fleck the doors and add all new hardware then Paint the stand and canopy black, which will match a bit more with the decor in my living room. Wood stain would look better buy I would have to build all new, thats not happening at leas not yet.
It has some wood water damage on the inside of the canopy, which will get some wood replacement and then I will seal the whole inside of the canopy and then re-flecked.
The lighting is VHO. It has 4 total bulbs, 2 actinics and two whites. One bulb messing, 2 ballast are messing and all of the wiring needs to be "wired".
Nothing to say about the tank itself. But, to clean it up. It has an internal overflow and is drilled on the bottom.
The filter is a Oceanic trickle filter model 75. Before we traded and when I was first looking into it I did some research. They say they are nice but has water noise, if ya know what I mean. I have all the plumbing that goes with the tank.
The stand is in new condition and all I will to it is give the inside and out a good cleaning and re-paint the inside. Mount some lighting and mount all the electrical all nice and pretty. Oh yeah!!! Fun stuff baby!!!
I will keep this post updated. When you see something are can give me advice along the way please chime in. I will ask a lot of questions. I have a ton of questions just from what I have wrote already but will wait till i'm at that point in the build
Thanks,
Henry
