First I didn't get the water testing done, will get those results tonight. Reason didn't get the testing done...
I didn't realize how much I had neglected the small things. I went shopping early Saturday, what I picked up:
1. Replacement filters and resin for RO/DI
2. Reef Putty (don't care for the stuff, but sometimes superglue doesn't cut it)
3. Carbon
4. Nylon bag 4x12
5. Didn't get salt, Jen at FAOIS said it would be onsale in two weeks (yay save $10), and I have enough left for about 40 gallons.
Sunday worked on the tank.. solid 4 HOURS!
1. I redid the rockwork which is something I've also felt necessary, this is a pain when you have livestock on everything. This means you have to remove some things and remount them.
2. Plugged all the Verimetid's that were living in one of my SPS (The one in the first before picture just above the two yellow tangs)
3. Had to operate on my Tricolor frag.. It had a TINY bit of monti on it, that was growing and started killing off the Tri. Had to saw off the monti and mount it separately.
4. Trimmed ALOT more Xenia, while it looks cool it is getting out of control (funny I was one of those guys that couldn't grow Xenia )
5. Buddy gave me a really nice leather and two heads of hammer this past summer... unfortunately the leather is growing ON the hammer.. so I finally split them and mounted them with putty to some bases.
6. Pulled my Vortech MP40 (the best piece of equipment I've purchased), cleaned it and moved to the other side of the tank.
7. Trimmed up my Chaeto that was out of control.
8. Washed and put a filter sock back .. have been running without the sock for about 6+ months.
9. Removed (hobby knife) a TON of ugly fuzzy brown mushrooms and brown paly's. Two n00b plagues in my tank. Worst livestock purchases .. EVER!
10. 15% water change, have enough salt for one more.
Cleaned glass again, and fin'. Will get the test done tonight, found most of my kits, thou I wonder how old they are? May have to pony up and replace them. Picture tonight of new Aquascape.
