TechETS's eReef (90 Gallon Reef and the details of the new 300 Gallon)

This is a quick post to get myself and my tank out into the community. I am thrilled to have access to a community or a “support group” where others will understand my passion / borderline obsession with my fishy friends and their watery home.

Here are some quick stats:

90 Gallon Reef Tank April of 2006 to present:

1 x 90 Gallon All Glass Aquarium Generic

1 x Custom Maple and Walnut Stand Built by yours truly

1 x 40 Gallon under stand Sump with Refugium

1 x Model 24 Mag-Drive Pump 2400 gph

2 x Inline PhosBan Reactor 150 withMini-Jet 606 Powerhead

2 x Hydor Koralia Circulation Pump/Powerhead (2 and 4)

1 x Current-USA Outer Orbit Extreme with
2 x 150 watt HQI , 2 x 130 watt Dual Actinic 460nm/420nm, 6 Moon Lights, and a CoralLife PC Refugium Light

1 x Aqua Controller 3 with Temp and PH Probes networked to iPhone.

1 x ASM G-3 Protien Skimmer

1 x 90 Gallon Custom Sump with Refugium

Update the Pump and Sump Room is Almost Complete Plumbed SheetRocked with Sound Board

1 x Sound Proof Custom Pump and Sump Room (AKA Mission Control) This room was designed by myself and Aquatic Dreams (LFS) it is sound proof, ventilated, climate controlled moisture resistant, has its own drain line, 4 dedicated 20 AMP Circuits, Network Runs, dedicated RO water line and work sink, and the best part is this is just the Pump and Sump Room!!! The actually Aquarium will be located through the sound proof wall in the family room! It will be visible on three sides the 2 x 6ft and 1 x 3ft with the other 3ft butted against the wall of the pump room.

This 300-gallon Aquarium has been a dream of mine for years. More details to come!!!

    I'd like to see some pictures of your maple stand, the one you mentioned in the 2006 section of your entry.

    Congrats on your new Leemar tank, I'm sure you'll love it. They make beautiful aquariums.

    Btw, a Mag 24 for a 90g tank is way overkill. It uses a ton of power, adds a lot of heat to the water, and doesn't help the system as a whole. Even with your new 300g, I wouldn't use that pump. A Mag 12 is a practical pump for mixing saltwater, for example. I can't even think of a reason to use the Mag 24.

    With the new tank, are you using an external pump like the Sequence Dart?
