Ok where to start.

This is what I started with a 65g in the living room with a 30g sump, Mag 7 pump, Aqua C Remora Pro and a few Korella 3's. Nice little tank but it was extremely noisy and the saltwater container took up a lot of room. I also didn't know any better and put a Koran Angle in the tank. Man what a beautiful fish and until I put a brain coral in the tank it was a model citizen.

After a few months of enjoying the 65g the noise in the living room became too much for the wife. She asked me if there was another place in the house I could move the tank. I thought about it and figured if I have to move it why not upgrade to a larger tank. So I did some searching and found a nice used 150g drilled AGA tank and stand within 100 miles of me. I live in a town where the closest LFS that handles any kind of decent Saltwater fish is about 100 miles (one way) in all directions. After bringing home the tank (without her knowing) I told here I would remodel a room to make the tank fit. She wasn't sure why I needed to remodel the room to make the tank fit but she was happy she was getting new shelves and a closet. So I waited till it was all done before I told here about the big tank. I figure its easier to ask for forgiveness then beg for permission. So I called a buddy and we carried in the new tank. It still needed cleaned but I knew that was going to be the easy part.





After a week of cleaning what I could after work hours it looked like this.


I then used some vinyl sticker material for the back, that way if I wanted to remove it all I had to do was peel it off.

Now that the tank was in and my master plan had been reviled and the wife was calmed down. I waited until she went to visit her mother for a few days before moving onto the next phase, a basement sump. The only problem was I had to move a bookshelf and some cabinets in order for this to work.

Here's what was waiting for me in the basement.



After relocating the shelves and cabinet I built a stand for the sump and pump. I primed and painted it and while that was drying I started in on the plumbing through the floor.
