A nice low electricity bill

This bill arrived last night, and I was grinning from ear to ear.
Every year, Texas residents have the right to pick a power company via a website called powertochoose.org and I found a company called Hino two months ago. My previous contract just expired a couple of days before. As I looked at this list of companies, I spotted this offer and couldn't believe my eyes.
I called the company to find out what the fine print hid from my eyes, and it turned out that the offer was real. If you use less than 1000 kWh, you'll pay something around 6.2 cents per kWh. If you land in the sweet spot (1000-1999kWh) you pay 1.1 cents. No way!
Now I know my bill is much higher all summer long. Typically I use around 2500 to 3400 kWh based on how bad our summer is. But I knew I'd have one month before summer and get a super low bill. How exciting. My rate is 6.5 cents for anything over 2000 kWh.
I made the switch, and then about two weeks later I got a bill for about $75 or so. Hino kinda tricked me by doing a "courtesy meter reading" so I didn't get the full month, putting me in the < 1000 kWh measurement. "Of course they did that!" I grumbled, missing the 1.1 cent window. However, this month I managed to not exceed the 1999 kWh number, so I got a nice low bill anyway.
I may get one more like this in November.
Happy dance commenced!
