I ran a leak simulation this weekend. I actually ran my Drinking water RO output to the tank and let it run down the outside of the tank to simulate an overfill, splash down the side or a leak at the seam of the tank. I let it run until the leak detection float switch was tripped. I only had a little puddle on the bottom outer frame at one of the side doors and a trickle in the front electronics compartmant where the conduit enters. A single drop ran down the back panel of the compartment. I have repaired the leak since the test. I think the puddle was caused by the water splashing onto the equipment and making it out at the bottom of the door sheild. None made it to the floor. I got out about 6 1/2 cups from the stand into a bucket mopping it up with a sponge. I guess that is the amount it will take to trip the alarms. This will keep the spills that are associated with normal maintenance from tripping the alarms and shutting down the system. Both the front and back float switches tripped and I got a email for each. All pumps and the 12 and 24 volt supplies shut off as programmed. Next is to test fill the tank and if everthing looks good let it run for a few weeks to test for leaks.
