Well upon encouragement from Melev I am attempting SPS once again. I went to the LFS Saturday and found these specimens:

The above SPS is purple with small green polyps, It was next to the below acroporas but I couldn't get an ID from the LFS nor have I seen this particular growth style online yet.

There are actually two different acropora on this rock with a small frag of the green left acro growing up as well. the one on the left has more visible polyps than the right one but it to does currently have visible polyps.

I brought them home, dipped them, acclimated them, and placed them in the sand bed for now. These are the largest sps I have ever attempted and were growing under LED lighting when I purchased them so I am really crossing my fingers.

    The first coral is probably Acropora nana. Also referred to as a Bonsai acro.

    The second one appears (the fuzzy side) to be A. tenuis.

    Good luck! You deserve some.

    thanks for the input Melev. the coloration made me think bonsai and I hope it actually is because most people seem to have it listed as an easy coral to care for which hopefully can help out with my lack of success with these types of corals.

    Just finished a small water change and on the 13th I will be dosing for the second time prodibio products.
