Back in town; is the tank okay?

Rate this Entry
Whenever I have to head out of town, I have to trust all will go well with my reef in my absence. When I walked in the door 30 minutes ago, it was great to see everything looks perfect and all the corals look right.

I had a nice time in Louisiana at Fragniappe this weekend. I visited a couple of fish stores, got to stay with a hobbyist and see his tank, worked the event as a vendor as well as a speaker, and ended my day with a tour of Coralvue's warehouse. My flight home today was uneventful, but I did get lucky that I didn't have one of the two bad seats on the flight. Two people were told at the gate that they would not be allowed to travel because the oxygen masks dropped down during the previous flight. The plane was full, so they had to wait for the next one. Glad that wasn't me.

Tomorrow the tanks turn four months old, so I'll be sure to post a couple of pictures to celebrate another monthly milestone.

Did I post that I recently put together a quick overview of the 60g on my site? http://melevsreef.biz/60g-anemone-cube

Yikes, glad you got to fly back. Do you have a tank sitter even on short trips? I only have one friend that could understand the plumbing enough to stop a leak if something happened, and he lives 45 minutes away. So I haven't had a tank sitter in the past.

I try to have someone stop by daily when I'm away, just to make sure all is well. They feed some frozen food and can tell me if something looks wrong via text or phone call.
