Skimmer Swabbie repaired again

As I reported not to long ago, my Skimmer Swabbie's squeegee bracket broke. I received a new one in the mail on Saturday, but it didn't match what I've had all this time.

I did have to trim off the excess rubber at each end, because otherwise it would have been too tall. The groved section of the bracket is longer than previously, but it wasn't large enough to drag against the neck of the skimmer. It's fixed, and hopefully will work out well. Within a few days, it'll be obvious if the Swabbie will keep the neck clean.

I did save the previous squeegee as the rubber section is still good and if for some reason what is installed now doesn't cut it, I can swap that part out. Perhaps.

I looks like the old blade was a better design?

Yeah, I'd be tempted to swap the actual squeegee rubber to the new bracket.

I feel the same way. But I might as well find out how this one works at the very least. The holes don't appear to line up though, so I'll have to see how that affects the change.
