When you appreciate your controller more than ever

While traveling, the reef is automated for the most part, although I do have someone check on the tank daily just to make sure everything is working as it should. Since getting back, I've been sick sick sick. Taking medication has made me sleepy, and I've not had the desire to lift a finger for the past six days, other than to add some thawed fishfood to the reef before the lights shut off for the night.
The Apex has been keeping everything firing on 8-cylinders, the top off is replenishing evaporation, and the pH controller has been maintaining the desired balance within the Calcium Reactor. Hopefully I'll regain my health finally so I can get back to the little maintenance things I do like cleaning the glass, and siphoning out detritus.
However, over time things do wear out or break. The squeegee bracket from my Avast Skimmer Swabbie finally snapped after more than two years of daily use. I'll need to buy a replacement. The rest of it is still in the body of the skimmer.
