Power outtage?

So I came home, and found my return pump sucking air and blowing it into the DT.
Open the cabinet doors to find the water level in the return area was low....
now I know the water level didnt evaporate that much as I added like 2-3 gallons of top off yesterday.I adjusted the return pump flow down to allow the water to catch back up and then was able to open the valve completely open again and things stabilized and no issues....I added another gallon of top off just to be safe...
I haven't had this issues with my new overflow box.
Looked at the microwave and stove and realized that the power had been out sometime during the day.
I have a power head hooked to the overflow via air hose to maintain siphon and kick start the siphon in case of a power outage...I have tested this multiple times and have had no issues....
I also looked at my AC3 and the display was changed (I keep it on the Temp and PH monitor screen) so I know the power went out.
Any ideas what went wrong? Anyone know why it doesn't list a power out on the AC3 iphone ap or when I log in via the web interface?
Positive note is that Ammonia is near zero (between .25 & .5 ppm) nitrites are up and I have started seeing Nitrates as well!!
