Saw this via Facebook today, and thought it was rather interesting. This is a carnivorous sponge.

Found very deep in the ocean, 10,800ft to 11,500ft - way deeper than you'll ever go unless you've got the funds to send a rover submarine down there. 2.04 to 2.18 miles down, to help you grasp the numbers.
