The stand has moved in!

Rate this Entry
Ok addicts the stand has moved in from the garage YAY!. The sump needs to be dropped in from the top so here is a shot of the stand with the top off. That's the wall the tank will permanently house. I'm really liking the color contrast between the expresso colored stand and the wall. Since the stand base is metal it weighs about 300lbs. The 120 will have to be moved and the stand will have to be centered on the wall prior to dropping the sump into the stand. There's no way to push the stand without bunching up the carpet. (patience grasshopper) I keep reminding my self to be patient.

I took this picture at night to see the color contrast under different lighting... ehhh I'm not sure I like it anymore... I'm debating painting this room or wall a different color. I kinda wanted a blue wall so the back of the tank wasn't yellow LOL... OR... I could just paint the back of the tank blue the same way I painted the 120. Still debating... not sure yet.

That's all for tonight...

I'd paint the back of the tank black if I were you.

I concur with melev. I would paint the tank black (I wish I had) but otherwise progress is very exciting

No matter the color you choose for the tank or the wall, Paint the back of the Tank. It will help to hide cords and everything else that will be behind the tank.

Melev, Cyano - is there a reason you prefer black over blue?

im excited for you! seeing that stand just sitting there would be torture for me!

Blue isn't all that natural to me, and black is a great backdrop for anything. When's the last time you went shopping for diamonds and they showcased them on blue velvet?

Black makes corals pop more than blue, blue just kind of blends them in with the background
