Looks like I get to be first this month. Here's how my 55 looks now. I'll be moving it home again in a couple weeks.

    here is my temp setup

I have lost 6 fish and several corals....I am hoping to get the new tank soon.

    This is the whole setup

This is the bigger half of the rose BTA that I split during the old tank tear down.

It definitly needs a good cleaning. I was comparing this photo with one from a couple weeks back though and it's starting to look up. Not sure what happened, I suspect the guy I gave it to a year ago was running GFO, which killed the algae scrubber. But he sure knows how to grow coral. Check out the torch coral that's taking over the right side of the tank. You can see the same coral on the left side below. Also the same birdsnest and pocillapora SPS corals in their same locations.

And Midnight, your livestock are going to feel lost in that 400 after being cramped in that temp tank. LOL

Wow Phil, your tank is growing out the corals nicely. Did he change lighting or anything? So nice to have ya back Phil.

Joeogio, very nice reef. Loove all the rock.

Midnight, nice to see your temporary setup finally. I'm also glad to see the majority of ya livestock doing well. Where did ya put all ya rock? Have you decided on how much rock you are going with in the new setup?

Well the rock is behind me in the picture cooking in a 55g tank. It was completely overgrown with xenia and other stuff, so I left to sit dry fro 3 days and then let it foul in some old tank water and then moved it to the 55g with all new saltwater in it. All the xenia is gone and the rock looks great. The cycle was minimal and is already complete. The only real loss was all the white sponge that was growing on the underside of it. But I will be happier xenia-less

I'll assume you're refering to the Algae Turf Scrubber and not my Auto Top-off System.
But yes, it did wonders for my tank as you can see in the older picture. I'll snap a picture of it when I feed the fish at noon. There should be photos of the build in my album if you hit my profile here. I use a vertical screen style, and Paul B has a really nice horizontal set up. His success was one of the reasons I decicded to try it.

Hat, as far as I can tell the lights and everything else are pretty much identical to how I had it. Tuan and I have always run nearly identical systems with identical maintenance, but somehow corals always seem to grow twice as fast for him. He has the touch.

Joeogio, Here's a link to the blog from when I first built my algae scrubber. http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/646-Algae-Scrubber

I've since revised this one with a union and slip fit on the legs so the screen can be removed for cleaning easier and a wider slot for the water. From Algaescrubber.net I've added a piece of plastic wrap over the top and down about an inch of the screen on both sides. This smooths the flow and prevents it from squirting if the slot gets a little plugged.
