The store sold it to me as a black percula... but it only cost $20 and black percs are ususally upwards of $70

I had my nitrates spike and most of my fish die a few weeks ago. I've been doing water changes nearly every other day with RODI water and am now starting to introduce some heartier fish like clowns. This I want to pair this gal up with a smaller clown so that it will become the larger female... but I don't know if I can safely put it with a regular orange/white percula...? Can anyone give it a go?

Black and white striped with a yellow face and yellow pectoral fins... I have no idea. It could possibly be a perc? but the coloration is weird... or maybe it is a clarkii? but the body shape doesn't look like that of a clarkii.

I have a small system, but any help would still be appreciated

    Actually it is a black saddleback .. Amphiprion Polymnus. There is not such thing as a black perc (even if the store label says so) there are black occelaris that come from Austrailia

    Gah well I just paired it with a regular percula clown... they seem to be getting along.. it is just them in the tank right now... should I take one out? Will they still mate/pair?

    They will not pair up or breed. They may get along for a while but aggression could flare up latter. A perc and false perc can and will pair and breed. A black perc is called a onyx perc. It's a cool fish though. Keep them both see what happens.
