Well, here we go.In the beginning there was a freshwater tank. Then 2,3,4,7!Then there were aquatic plants(by the 5 gal bucket load). Then there were Cichlids and Rainbows and everything between. And then there was a void and nothing could fill it.And then there was marine, and it was terrible. All the rules of fresh were useless(not all) and all was lost.Back to beginnings and years of reading and learning and modelling other peoples systems. My first question is , what would YOU do with a refugium measuring 40lx18hx12w? Is a 6 foot tall protein skimmer overkill for a totall system volume of 300gal (aprox)? I'm building something that looks like what you see under a regular aquarium but look at it through a magnifying glass. My "support" system will be on a 4x8 platform in the basement.Thats the only place it will all fit. This is an excruciatingly slow build. I want to thank Melev for all those years of inspiration!Pics will come when it doesn't look like a pile of boxes and gear. There is no tank yet. Working out the details with the builder. Here we go!
