I just got home less than an hour ago. We (DFWMAS members) had a great time at CRASE in Oklahoma City, seeing the members from the club up there and talking about next year's MACNA to them. I had the opportunity to meet up with many friends, like Joe Yaiullo (from the Altantis Aquarium in Long Island and runs the 20,000g reef), Laura Birenbaum (who works at Acan Lighting now and who was on RA's podcast and in one of our videos), Tony Vargas (who recently released his new book via all the social media channels), Justin Credible (read that out loud to yourself; who appears on episodes of Tanked at the wholesalers), Paul Whitby (owner of HighDef Corals), Josh of Gonzo's Corals and many more.

All of us from the club wore our famous yellow MACNA shirts all day, and Joe Y. informed his audience that "a bunch of yellow-shirted thugs made him add a DFWMACNA slide to his presentation or his family members might get hurt..." hilarious! We hope our northern neighbors will choose to attend with us next year; CRASE won't even take place because of MACNA and COMAS wants their members to enjoy the benefit of MACNA being within driving distance.

I only heard a part of the three speakers, but all were informative.

As the day wrapped up, I got motivated to pick up more livestock. I shopped around at the various booths. One large multi-polyped Lobophyllia was purchased earlier in the day, but before I left I'd also purchased 30 chromis from a cube display tank. And I couldn't leave the most adorable pair of clownfish, so they are going into my frag tank. Five acans caught my eye, and a pretty encrusting Monti was gifted to me. I also brought home a container of the larger grade ARM from Caribsea to fill up my calcium reactor (since the coral experiment ended with unacceptable results), and I won two goody bags full of food samples from the raffle. And I got two more t-shirts.

Afterwards, we all went to dinner, then visited Paul Whitby's 600g reef. It's a beautiful mixed reef that is 2.5 years old. I took a few pictures of it that I'll share soon.

All the corals are in QT, and the fish are nearly acclimated. I'm going to add them directly to the reef tonight, and then get some rest.
