Treat your tank sitter right!

Rate this Entry
Less than two months ago, my tank sitter's reef crashed. A RBTA was devoured by a vortech pump, and the nematocysts wiped out everything. He broke down the tank, cleaned everything out and waited for the cycle to finish. A week ago he told me that the water was testing perfectly, and a couple of test corals from the LFS were doing well, so I bagged up some corals from my reef to get him jump started. Some were small, others bigger. It helped both clear out some space in my reef and keep him happy.

Keeping your tank sitter happy is important. They watch your reef while you are away, and if they know they'll get corals out of your tank, they'll care more about "their" broodstock.

I don't have a lot of growth to cut and share quite yet either, but still was able to find him some treasure to get him restarted.

While in Memphis at the frag swap, I bought him a coral we don't have in the DFW area. He gets that tomorrow.
