For Metal Halide of VHO? How much do you want to spend? You may find some used ballasts for sale on various forums, which is a good way to save money.

I think the Galaxy Ballast are good for Metal halides. I found a Dual Galaxy Ballast 2x250 watt for 215 delivered to my door. I'll look for the info later and post it. It was acutally cheaper than the price of the local group buy in my area too.
