The Tankless Reefer'ette

For those of you that don't know me I had a 150 gal tank I called the Candyshop that I filled with the most colorful corals I could find. I upgraded from a 24g to a 90g to the 150 and kept mostly all my corals along the way. Last year I decided to break down after a move and an outbreak of velvet I got from a fish I bought at Tong's (a LFS here in socal).
Living without the 150 Candyshop has been both nice and sad. I think it would be much easier to ignore not having a tank if I wasn't so involved in the industry on a daily basis. Being on the board of SDMAS (San Diego Marine Aquarium Society) and having a lot of clients in the industry keeps the saltwater goodies in my face and on my mind. I was planning on traveling next year but money has been so tight I don't think that's going to happen. So what's stopping me from getting a 30g cube or something similar? Hmmm... I don't know.
Its been nice though to not sleep and wake up in a sweat wondering if my tank sprung a leak. Or wake up and see all the fish in your tank dying of velvet. And not having the expense of electricity and random coral splurges. I do miss it and will most likely try my hand at a nano soon. Something with just fish and softies.
