Starting over with my tank!

75 Gallon-RR Update Lighting

Rate this Entry
So finally I decided to work on my lighting again. As most can recall I bought a Current USA 4-T5 light fixture. I took the canopy completely out and been running that fixture. But, the ultimate plan was to put that fixture in my canopy. Curent USA makes the fixture to fit in most canopies.

My son came over to visit me yesterday and he helped me put the fixture in the canopy. I have two 110 VHO bulbs in the front and now have the 4-54 watts T5s in the back.

Needless to say the reef looks a lot brighter and my corals glow more. I'm hoping my corals grow a little faster with the added wattage. I still need to hook up timers for the VHOs. Maybe I will do that today.

So, what's next for this setup? I need to install new sump, protein skimmer, sock holder, mag 5 pump and NextReef reactor in stand. Then I need to put new fuge grow light fixture in stand. Last for now, I need to put stand pipe I made in my overflow.

Can't wait till all that's done! LOL By the time I do all that I will probably be upgrading my whole system...hahaha.

Hahah I knew someone would say that. ;-p Im alway on this site with my iPhone. I can't upload pics to the site with it though. I need to send the pics to my computer. I love using my iPhone because I can make my fonts bigger. My screen reader for my computer will not work on my new computer.

I will add pics in a while.

On the Mac, I use iMovie for clips that I edit on the machine. Directly from my iPhone to YouTube, there's no editing although you can buy an App to do so. On my PC, I've used Microsoft Movie Maker.

To see better on your PC, hold down CONTROL and press the + button to increase the font size. Pressing the - key decreases it. You can toggle it up and down until you are content.

Your tank has lots of color in it. The bigger those grow, the nicer it'll be.

Marc, thanks for the infor about movie editing and making the fonts bigger. I didn't know you could make ya fonts bigger like that. Can't wait to try that.

All the corals I've been buying the last few months were deliberate. (For color) I wanted different colors and not greens and browns. It seemed that was the only color I was getting. I still want some more blues in the tank.
