The Stair-stepping Nano Stand

Rate this Entry
Finally making some progress on the nanos. I finished the stand and have all 3 of the display tanks, but I'm still undecided on the sump. Hopefully I can custom make a 55x9x14 inch 4 section sump, but I haven't ever worked with acrylic before. Maybe I'll get a estimate on a Melev's Reef sump. The stand is made with 2x4's, plywood, and over 80 wood screws. Surprisingly it is very level on all three sections. The holes in the stand are for plumbing.

Sweeeeeeet. I love seeing projects from design to completion. What did you end up deciding for the lighting? :-)

I second the Sweeeeeeet, is the sump supposed to go in the base of the stand?

DIY LED's all the way, even for the refugium. The sump will be the same dimensions as the bottom of the stand for a claen and simple overall appearance. No doors for hiding equipment because electrical and top-off will be on the other side of the wall.

It's coming along nicely and is built like a tank.
