Nothing too new with the tank this month. I've been watching my water parameters to see how long I could go without a water change. No increase in nitrates whatsoever still. I've tested 0 for over four months straight now (test works fine, I've got another batch of rock cycling). Calcium dropped down a little bit to around 420 and I noticed my monti cap lose some of it's green tint. In the next couple of weeks I'll be getting in and installing my Next Reef reactor, an MP10ES and maybe a few more goodies (hopefully an Apex Jr... would love to review one!!! Hint hint wink wink Neptune Systems! I promise several blog/forum locations, a youtube vid, you name it! haha).
So, tonight the wife was out of the house, my son was asleep, I didn't have any video editing or web work to do, I had already done a water change... so what was I supposed to do?! Tank photoshoot? Sounds great!
A FTS showing off my light fixture and rimless tank.
Straight on FTS
View of the right side of my tank. The large rock in the upper right covered by waving hand athalia is soon to be replaced by a very nice mature 8" red monti cap colony.
Coral Banded Shrimp Macro Shot
I love my sandbed out in front of my cave with my cute little maxima clam on the sandbed now. I'm watching it close to make sure he's got enough light down there.
My Duncan & Derasa Clam, both growing so fast (I can already see that it's only a matter of time before they out grow my 29g!)
Mini-Maxi Anemone - Still hasn't moved an inch. He's a perfectly behaved anemone!
Another Macro shot of my coral banded shrimp, this time in front of my Lord of the Rings Zoas
Candy Apple Red Zoas
My open brain coral getting a forced scrubbing from my clown.
A shot focused purely on the clam. His mantle is still a dark brown/maroon but his middle is solid purple now.
Profile of my clown under the blues. They look solid black and white! :-)
