I have a standard 75g non drilled but thinking on drilling. My question is if i want to use 1" pvc, do i need use 1" bulkheads and what size glass drill bit do i use. As well how far from the black trim do i drill hole from?
Before drilling your glass, check out melevesreef.com about the diy overflow. I did my first, and its fantastic! A blast/ simple to build, and so rewarding to watch it in action and say, "yeah, I built that! ". However, if you wanna drill the glass, that is a very clean look as well. Just get the outside diameter of whatever piece is going through the tank, and that's your bit size. Im sure you can youtube some d.I.y.'s on drilling glass for overflows and they would point you in the right direction. Good luck, keep us posted, I hope that helped some, and ask some more!
Check out www.glass-holes.com . Local to me, great people to deal with and they are great help!
you also need to make sure the bottom of your tank as glass that is drill able as a lot of your bigger aquariums have tempered glass bottoms which are not drill able
thx for all the help, i do appreciate it alot. I am think of drilling the back.
