I recently found my alkalinity went to 6.1 dkh. I dosed within a few hours to bring to 7.1 in a 24 period. Will dose again to bring to 8.0 ish... So, I was cleaning the tank this morning and was saddened to see my Sally Light Foot Crab "belly up" on the bottom I know invertebrates are often sensitive to ph and alk swings.... Here are a few pics that I took, morbid curiosity.

But, as always in this hobby it pays not to PANIC !!!!!

It was Sally's MOLT and Sally is laughing at me .... I knew shrimp molt often, but Sally? I can't slip out of a two armed jacket that easy, imaging eight arms ? Houdini would be impressed. Simply fascinating

HAHA! One of my dwarf hermit crabs gave me a scare as well when it molted several months back, but then I looked and all were accounted for. I'm so used to insect molts which are much paler in comparison.

every time my shrimp molts i still let out a gasp......and what makes it worse is how they have to hide from protection after a molt and may not see them till the next day or longer then all of a sudden HEY! your not dead at all!
