i have been unsuccessful at keeping acans in my 90g mixed reef and can never figure out why, until now.

something always picks on my acans until they give in and fade away. always thought there must be a crab or something eating them. three months ago i took them out and placed them in a separate system where they thrived and coloured up nicely.

i decided to place them into the display again but this time they would be up higher attached to the glass on a frag rack where the crabs could not climb or reach. well, the next morning they were all stressed again.

i caught the yellow tang picking on the acans and had to remove them again so they could heal.

i am thinking there must be some algae growing between the heads?

any one else ever witness the yellow tang picking on acans?
