Red Sea reef colors pro test kit

Rate this Entry
i really wasnt a big tester, but latley ive wondering why i cant keep certain Acros the oringinal color from when i purchased them, i found this nice article: http://reefbuilders.com/2008/09/03/g...-vivid-bright/ . So it got me thinking, i dose 2 part and test my cal and mag ocasionally same for nitrates(make sure bio pellets are working). So what else is missing? I had seen the Red Sea kits popping up on the internet, then i saw them at my LFS. Being a person that likes to buy new products i jumped on the Colors Pro Kit, i got to say i like the packaging comes in nice hard plastic case and very easy instruction to follow. Speaking of instructions for those of you who like seeing things demonstrated; Red Sea thought of that also with their youtube channel and demonstrates step by step all the tests: http://www.youtube.com/user/RedSeaFish2010
After the three test where performed i found out that i had no measurable Iron, Potassium was low and Iodine was "ok". Kit has nice cards with instructions with them and performing titrates with the syringe holder is very helpful.

OK so as you have read i was low on potassium and and no measurable iron, so i started doseing iron and potassium slowly. A warning iron is also obsorbed by macro algae so becarful when dosing this if you have a hair algae problem, couple spots where i had some took off a bit. As of today my green and yellow SPS have shown improvement in color. my poci and stylos that where struggling and bleached have also shown polyp and color improvement. i tried getting pics but i cant get the white balance right everything looks the same color. ill try adjusting setting this week.
