Has anyone ever cut their starfish to create more starfish? I have a serpent starin my 75 gallon and I'm about to move everything over to a 180 bowfront. I don't know if I could actually bring myself to "cutting" my starfish (on purpose), but the money-saving idea came to me since I know that Echinoderms have regenerative capabilities. Just wondering if anybody had tried, or considered this method of obtaining more starfish for your tank.

    some split(asexual) but dont think you can cut the body in two. Most of the regen ive read about is cuttting off legs to feed Harlequin shrimp

    yeah I've only cut arms off to feed my Harlequins. I think cutting the core body might kill the starfish.
