With the situations currently ongoing in Papua New Guinea, we've seen no livestock making it's way state side or out of the country for that matter. However there will be availability through some sources eventually, from who and where has yet to be determined, but the country is looking into the prospects and wants to see it happen.
So what's this post for then? I've been researching some of the absolutely amazing sea life coming from this area. I've really seen no other place with the vibrance and colors coming out of it as PNG, and am anxiously awaiting to stock my tank with a few of their native inhabitants. Many people have never seen what was available from this country, so we'll do a brief visual tour.
First up is an absolutely stunning mandarin from PNG. The face is kind of similar to the green mandarin (or psychadelic as some call) however the body is a stunning design of predominantly orange.
Some stunning Black Coral... looks gorgonian like but not 100% sure
A beautiful Ribbon Eel
For those who are really interested in the predator and/or aggressive tanks, look at this all black scorpionfish
Even the damsels are ridicously beautiful specimens. This is the Tufi damsel
I'm sure many people have seen this absolute gem. I don't know what the 1 or 2 that went into circulation actually sold for, but I know it was a ton.
The Maroon Lightning clownfish
There's alot more coming I'm sure too. I can't wait until some of these beautiful specimens make their way to the states.
