Been a while since I've made the rounds, I thought I'd post some details of the display. First, a full tank shot from about a week ago.
While I'm very happy with the rock, I have noticed a lot of brown algae growth. After speaking with others who have used Marco rocks, this is not uncommon. Fortunately, it blows right off the rock and the turbo snails make quick work of it. I suspect in another couple months it will all be gone. Here you can see how a snail has left a path of destruction.
Otherwise the tank is doing quite well. I'm trying hard not to move quickly, though I'm very keen on getting a bunch of new fish and corals for the tank. Right now I just have the 2 main fish from days past (foxface and a half-black mimic tang), a pair of mandarins, and 2 canary wrasses. I ordered a whitecheek tang from BlueZoo (I call them a poor man's achilles tang these days), but it arrived DOA. In the near future I hope to add another surgeonfish and a number of acros, but I want to kind of prove out the system first before spitting a bunch of money at livestock. But for now, I'm trying to be patient.
