New lighting [PICS]

Rate this Entry
Alright, so after talking with Phil, I went ahead and purchased some new lighting, and im very impressed. I bought a 24-30" Odyssea with quad lamps and moonlight LEDs. The packaging was excellent, with bubble wrap on everything. I was slightly nervous about the bulbs, as they sounded like they were broken, but they turned on perfectly.

As far as lighting quality, all I have to say is stunning. My corals and even my fish look gorgeous. For 70 dollars and free shipping, this lighting is a steal!
Downside is that it uses three wall sockets, and has two different ballasts.
As a side note, I need to clean the back of my tank, so pardon the algae -_-
Im waiting to clean it until tomorrow when I move my tank onto a new stand.
Also, my camera shows the tank slightly more blue than it actually is.

Awesome Caviar! Be sure and light adapt your corals so you don't shock them. Start with only half the lights one for about 4 hours a day and increase it by 2 hours each day to 10 or 12 hours. Then do the same with the other half.

And most of us have a couple power bars to feed all the equipment in our tank.

And remember that it can be an advantage of having multiple outlets as the can each be ran with a separate timer to help simulate dawn and dusk
