New Lights

Finally purchased my lighting, got a good deal on it at Dallas North, so I had to grab it, it's a 48", AquaticLife T5 HO 6 Lamp with 4 Lunar lights light. I guess I'm going to have to start figuring out how I'm going to mount it, I need to get it about 4 more" off the water (a total of about 7" above the tank), so I have room to get into the tank to clean or move things around, can't decide if I want to hang it or build a canopy for it.

The light has a built in timer so you can individually set morning (2 T5 bulbs), afternoon (4 T5 bulbs) and moonlight (4 sets of 2 led bulbs). I think the only thing I don't like about the light is if the little computer goes out, I won't be able to control the lights.

I ordered my skimmer today, a Super Reef Octopus 2000 SRO-2000 with Bubble Blaster pump. Hope it gets here by the weekend so Marc can start on my sump soon, starting to get excited, it's slowwwwllllllyyyyyyy coming together

As usual, any and all comments are welcome, if anyone sees something I'm missing, thanks in advance for brining it to my attention.

pendant hanging from the ceiling will give you the best cooling if that's a concern. but if you have the wood working skills an enclosed canopy has a very nice finished look.

I don't know about my wood working skills , I'll see how the stand turns out before I decide lol, I'm thinking about building a rack out of tubing instead of hanging the light from the ceiling, jury is still out.

    Hey there Air Force....
Hanging them will give you the ability to raise and lower them to your tanks needs. And that lighting fixture can be exposed without it being an eye sore. So at least you have that option.
