so i got the 75 running today. as you all know this hobby is about tinkering and spending way too much money and time on your tank.
i woke up at 11 and completely re did my tank. im talking completely. modified my sump. re did all the plumming. i broke a bulkhead and bought a vortec mp20 which i highly recommend to anyone. that thing can move water. ive never seen one in person and the unit is much larger than i had imagined but it is nothing compared to the amount of koralias you would need to get the same result. it took a min to get everything aligned so that the noise wasnt insane. other than the occasional highpitched whine which im sure will work its self out it runs amazing right out of the box.
i hung my halide fixture up. i plan on counterbalancing it with somthing attached to an anchor and some pulleys for easy access and acclamation. ill have to hit up home depot this week for all that. thinking about starting a frag tank on the back end of my display. i might tie it into the plumming i might do i seperate. not sure.
So i guess its time to just let it cycle! im a very implusive person so the hardest part of this whole process is going to be not adding anything to the tank. i have a history of letting tank cycle for a week before dumping coral into it just to watch it die. my newyears resolution this year is to the learn patience! so ill get my hands on a camera snap some shots to make this a bit more visual.
