Any suggestions???
Just put a bid on a good-priced one on Ebay.
Sounds like the motor inside is probably burned out....If you are pretty handy I know they come apart and motor can be replaced as a friend of mine has to do this every few years to his.
Yes, I have a very handy hubby at home! Problem is, that would leave me with no return & no flow in that tank at all. So I will have a redundant SS for a back up, when the one I am getting on Ebay takes a crap in a few years.
Ahh didn't know it was on your main return thought it might have been on a closed loop. Sounds good to have a backup like you said in case it happens again just put a union on both and will be an easy swap in the future. Good Luck!
Thanks Eric! I freaked at 1st when I saw it wasn't moving but I guess it isn't much different than having 2 powerheads on there. I see the flow bouncing off the glass & still moving everything around a little.
Usually they will start making a clicking sound and not long after they motor will go out. You will probably be fine until the other one arrives or you can maybe turn the outlet or the whole Seaswirl to another position if you need more flow.
I've got a Y connector, so the flow is going in 2 directions. I heard no clicking sound but I did force the mechanism as I was replacing the flow director back on, so they'd be going in the directions I needed (not sure I explained that very well).
That could have done it also as the motors are not the strongest in the world but are cheap and fairly easy to replace.
