245 & 180 Gallon Display and Breeding Room - Latest progess

Rate this Entry
Here is the latest update on the progress that I am making with the fish room and display setup. I have finished the second breeding rack, including foam, paint and installation. I used the same process as with the first breeding rack. Here is a pic of it completed with the rubbermaid sump underneath.

My skimmer arrived about a week ago. I have taken it out of the box but I haven't put it together yet. I am storing it in a rubbermaid until I get around to putting it together. My plan is to use the new skimmer in the breeding set up since it is not as high as the ASM G6 and would allow me better access to the shelves.

Next steps are to get the electrical and plumbing completed on the breeding system. My goal is to finish the electrcial on Monday and to get plumbing done by the end of the month. After that I can finally starting thinking about the fun aquarium side of things and start getting ready to move the fish, which is the part that I am most looking forward to.

I'm curious as to what you painted your stands with.

I basically used flat white paint. I didn't use marine paint or anything like that. I have never had any issues with it.

Gloss might hold up better than flat in the long run.
