Yes, that should suffice for some of the easier SPS corals. Pocillopora for example.
no, it's 4 bulbs total (2 of their nova extreme x2 light fixtures) few places suggested that a single fixture (1 10k t5ho and 1 actinic 460 t5ho) would be sufficient, but I don't buy it so I went with two. Just hoping I can get a few hard corals in there with the rest of my stuff
Two 30" T5 bulbs over a 29g? No, I doubt that is too much light. What color bulbs? The 29g has 12" depth (front to back) so you may have room for another bulb or two. hehe Be sure they are about 7" off the water to avoid heating the water and reduce UV radiation to the corals near the top of the tank.
I didn't want to clutter up another post, so figured I'd just drop you a message. I'm trying to decide if I actually went a little TOO crazy on lighting. Right now I have 96 watts of t5 ho lighting on my 29 gallon tank, with individual parabolic reflectors on each one (It's actually two current usa 30" t5ho lights... as they don't make a 4 bulb system in the 30") Bad idea? or is it enough that I should flaunt sps corals in a 29 gallon tank?
