Let's hope that the clean up crews can do whatever is necessary to protect the GBR from damage, and that some more important laws are enable to prevent a similar circumstance from occurring.

National Geographic does it again. They've video'd a fish that hasn't been found alive in about 70 years. On the linked page, you can watch the video and learn more about the barreleye eye fish, an animal that resides 2000' deep below the surface.

Three months in, we sure didn't see this one coming... You probably noticed the new look of our site already. Let me bring you up to speed. With our continuing efforts to bring you current information, answer questions, release articles and podcasts, it was quickly noticed by others that we were on to something. Over the past 10 days, negotiations took place which resulted in our site being acquired by ReefCentral.com

You'll note the whimsical logo at the top of our site. That's on purpose because we like to have fun here, and they knew it. Our agreement allows for us to not only continue to entertain you addicts, but also puts up the funding for some pretty cool expansions in the near future. The new URL will be www.ReefAddictsCentral.com, but for the next few weeks this address will work. Once we've officially moved over to the bigger faster servers, we will install an auto-forwarding script to get you there of course.

One of my favorite fish is the Mandarin fish, specifically the paisley-blue Mandarin. Synchiropus splendidus to be specific. I've been keeping them for years, and was fortunate to keep them happy with pellet food. To make sure they got a meal, I used a small jar and called it the Mandarin Diner. It worked well for me. Over the years, I've gotten lots of emails from others asking for assistance with this particular fish because they so often die of starvation. Have you heard of the new controller for MP10 and MP40 Vortech pumps? It's been in secretive development for 18 months, and is scheduled to roll out later this month. If you have pumps already, this is an optional upgrade. I'm assuming that it will come out with future pumps as a packaged option for new customers.
