  1. Sump Improvements

    I removed the sump from the system Sunday a week ago. I just got it installed back in the system Monday evening. While it was out I completed the drain line plumbing to the Sump. I made a acrylic cooling fan holder and also a probe holder that allows probes to be added in the bubble trap. I also made the feet for the corner boxes along with a acrylic cover for mounting float switches to the return compartment and probe holders to the refugium compartment. I was in a hurry so I did not get a lot ...

  2. Sump Cooling Fans

    While I was at MACNA my system ran OK with one exception. One of my sump cooling fans went out and took out the fan controller with it. All the fans were off because of this with the exception of the cooling fans for the LED lighting. The water temp did go up to 82 degrees with the fans out. This was not so bad. The real issue is it could have caused a fire since the the circuit board in the fan and the one in the controller had burnt spots. You could smell that burning smell in the room a couple ...

    A couple of days ago I drove this sucker home;

    6ftL x 2ftD x 20"T

    Last night I did the old 'quick snap a photo with your iphone' deal, and voila, photographic proof.

    I'm just waiting for ...

  4. 350g sump ideas

    So i have a question does anyone run multiple tanks on the same level as a sump? I know people have separate refugiums but I want some feedback about how the whole daisy chaining multiple tanks together actually works. Are there more problems with water levels due to different tanks or does it all just level out? Do bulkheads between the tanks distribute the water evenly etc??? Those types of questions are what I'm working through because right now to keep the equipment under the tank I basically ...
  5. Water Testing!

    Hey guys,

    As promised in my most recent post, I am posting some videos of the water test I did today. I have to go to a meeting in a few minutes and my YouTube videos are uploading as we speak so I will add the very first one for now. In all there are four parts about 3 minutes long per piece. The video is a bit more blurry than I would have liked and my amature status as a videographer is clearly on display, but I want to show all of you what I've been up to. Additionally, throughout ...
