  1. Sudden storm, and then powerless for half a day

It's been a busy week for me as I prepare for my upcoming trips, care for customer orders, club business, and more. Yesterday afternoon, my area was hit with a 'microburst' storm. I saw a few raindrops on my windshield as I was heading home, and maybe 30 minutes later it was crazy outside. The wind was huge, the trees' branches were swaying hard, there was white mist going every direction, then pea-sized hail came down for a few minutes. It rained really hard and fast, and the storm then passed, ...

  2. A Mame Skimmer Clone for fun

My tank has been doing pretty well. As it grows up, it needs me less and less... which makes me a bit bored in my free-time as I am usually occupied by something with the tank. I was perusing some older articles, threads, etc when I came across a "micro-skimmer". I eventually landed on this article by Reef Builders:

    1) Make my tank's info (Temp at the time) view-able WiFi and Cellular networks.

    2) I wanted to have all my equipment (Not just the lights and temp stuff) controllable.

    3) I was sick of my "Drawer" control board as the toll of pulling the drawer and dragging wires whenever I did it ...

  5. Septic Tank

I am getting ready to setup a 500 gallon tank. I am on a septic system (concrete I believe) and am wondering if it is safe to do water changes into the septic system? What would it do to my drain field? Does anyone have any experience on this one please. I have spoken to several septic people. They tell me that it should be ok because people use salt to soften hard water. I think the salt mixture is a bit more concentrated in a fish tank than a water softer system, but I could be mistaken. ...
